How to get your credits

Tests

A unit standard is a list of topics on which you must be tested. It is not a course. To gain a unit standard you must be tested on each topic by:

  1. EITHER Your science teacher at school.
  2. OR The National Observatory online The Carter Observatory.

The book, Astronomy Aotearoa: Student Workbook, provides practice questions for the test.

Courses

To pass the test you need to learn astronomy. You need to study a course in astronomy. Courses are provided by:

  1. EITHER Your science teacher at school.
  2. OR The National Observatory online The Carter Observatory.

In either case, you should use the book Astronomy Aotearoa: Student Guide.
